Before its reopening in 2003, Pakse Hotel has been totally renovated in a “boutique hotel†spirit. It now reaches international standards in terms of quality. The French owners/managers of the hotel have set a real service policy : from the day of your arrival to the time you check-out, all will be done to make you feel comfortable, just like you are home.
Pakse Hotel is located in the historical centre of the city, surrounded by French colonial buildings. Ideally placed, it is within walking distance from the Mekong River, local market, shops, banks, VIP night-bus to Vientiane station and all services. Pakse International Airport is just a few minutes away by car or local taxi (tuk-tuk).
Pakse Hotel is an important part of the local patrimony : the building has been constructed in the early 60's under the supervision of the last King of Champassak, Chao Boun Oum.
Originally, it was in the same time a hotel, a theatre and a casino.
The former theatre is now a convention hall and restaurant.
The upper deck of the casino has become a wonderful open-air panoramic restaurant, which is the best place in town to enjoy a romantic dinner overlooking the Mekong. Our local cooks prepare Lao and Thai dishes, our French cook is specialized in western specialties.
We can also cater for groups at special prices (travel agents, conventions, incentives) for lunch or dinner, and organize special events : our convention hall can easily host 350 seated attendants.to a meal.
Accommodation is provided in 66 comfortable rooms, accessible by lift. All rooms are fitted with individual air conditioners, cable television (international channels), refrigerator with mini-bar, telephone, personal work desk and en-suite bathroom with hot water.
Different categories of rooms and different prices allow many kinds of travelers to find the accommodation corresponding to their budget and expectations.
Services proposed are : room service, guest laundry, money exchange, safety box, souvenir sales, secured parking for guests’ vehicles (vans, cars, motorcycles and bicycles).
The guests have an access to Internet at the business center, and for those having their own computer, wireless access is available on all floors.
Getting to Pakse is easy by air (from Bangkok, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Vientiane and Luang Prabang) and by road (from Vientiane, Savannakhet in Laos, from Thailand,Vietnam and Cambodia).
